SOPA and PIPA are two pieces of legislation that threaten the existence of the Internet as we know it. They will provide certain corporations with extra-judicial authority to censor the web. Meanwhile, the major media — owned by the same corporations that have purchased this legislation — have failed to report the story.
Over 7,000 web sites (including Google, Wikipedia, Reddit, Craigslist, Imgur, WordPress, and more) have chosen January 18th to raise awareness by direct action.
